A family firm with its roots firmly in the Fylde Coast, Clement Dickens & Son has always been keen to play a positive role within that community. We took pride in doing our bit long before corporate social responsibility became an integral part of the modern business profile. Our employees have always taken part in charity and neighbourhood events, promoting grassroots sports and undertaking pro bono projects for worthwhile causes.
These days we take that another step further and pledge support to a variety of important local organisations. Clement Dickens is a main sponsor for Thornton Cleveleys Rugby Football Club and regular match sponsor for Fylde Rugby Club. We are Friends of the Grand, Blackpool’s Grade I listed theatre, and supporters of the Poulton Railway Station, where our contribution to the platform’s hanging baskets helps brighten the journey for travellers and supports the town’s annual In Bloom competition efforts. We also provide our skills and labour for pro-bono community projects such as Redmarsh School in Thornton, in conjunction with the Wooden Spoon Society charity which supports children with special needs.
As a company, we also invest in the future of our industry and our employees and take on apprentices and graduates across the trades and surveying roles. And we don’t just keep ourselves to ourselves. We regularly meet with colleagues in the industry to share ideas. In fact Clement Dickens has a long track record of working closely with industry bodies such as Construction Skills and our staff attend seminars and best practice club workshops. We don’t shy away form taking on leadership roles and we are proud to have three former, and one current, Fylde Coast branch President of the National Federation of Builders.
