Working Well Together

Keeping health and safety at the top of the agenda, managing director Ross Dickens has been appointed vice chair of Lancashire Working Well Together, an initiative to promote and encourage best practice throughout the industry.

Made up of representatives from construction companies across the county, and backed by the Health and Safety Executive, Lancashire Working Well Together meets regularly to share information to members through a series of seminars.

Keen to encourage more people to get involved, Ross said: “Anyone working in the construction industry is aware of the risks and responsibilities the job brings. Working Well Together’s free events help to raise awareness of the issues facing our industry and gives particiants practical advice on how to deal with risk. Whether you’re self employed or part of a bigger orgainsation, we all need to keep up-to-date with the latest legislation and practices. I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t been before to come along and see how they could benefit from the knowledge and experience of colleagues in the industry.”

The next event is a half-day session on November 14th at Park Hall Hotel in Charnock Rochard. Places are free but limited so booking is essential. To reserve your space contact Bernadette Barrett on 0151 4012 or email bernadette.barrett@hse.gsi.gov.uk to specify morning (8am – 12noon) or afternoon (1pm – 5pm) session. No dress code, refreshments are provided.
